Custom Bathroom Vanities for NYC Apartments (To the Inch, Live Price)
Custom bathroom vanities for NYC apartments. Green Cabinets NY builds to the inch, with live pricing, by appointment in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens.
NYC bathrooms are not catalog widths. A Park Slope brownstone vanity sits between a radiator and a stack. A LIC condo has a P-trap that eats the top drawer. A Forest Hills co-op wants a 61-inch run because 60 leaves a stupid filler. Stock vanities come in 24, 30, 36, 48. The room does not.
Green Cabinets NY designs and installs custom bathroom vanities by appointment in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens. We are a home-based millwork shop, not a walk-in showroom. You can spec a vanity to the inch in the designer, see a live price, then we measure and install in the actual bathroom.
Why stock vanities fail in NYC bathrooms
Prewar walls are out of square. Plumbing stacks do not move. Medicine cabinets sit off center. The standard 36-inch box is either too wide or leaves a 3-inch gap that looks like a mistake.
Common constraints we design around:
- Exact widths (31, 41, 53, 61 inches instead of the nearest SKU)
- Depths that clear a door swing or a toilet tank
- Height for vessel vs undermount vs integrated sinks
- A U-cut / plumbing notch around a P-trap, S-trap, or bottle trap so the top drawer still works
- Short co-op ceilings and bulkheads that kill a tall linen tower
- Building rules on work hours, COI, and how the piece comes up the elevator
That is millwork, not a big-box pickup. Same logic as custom kitchen cabinets in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens: measure the real room, then build.
Use the vanity designer before you email
The custom bathroom vanity designer at /designer is a free 3D tool on this site. No account. You set width, depth, and height, pick doors or drawers, choose a real panel finish (Tafisa, Egger, Shinnoki, Wilsonart, AGT), and pick the trap type so the U-cut is in the drawing.
The price updates as you go. On the live tool, custom vanities start around $225 per linear foot for base cabinets and $350 per linear foot for a full vanity, depending on panel brand, hardware, and drawers. That is a planning number, not a surprise at the end.
When you ask us to email the quote, we need name, email, phone, and borough (Brooklyn, Manhattan, or Queens). You get the rendering, the itemized price, and the U-cut spec sheet. The 3D view is a design preview, not a photograph of a finished job.
If the same renovation includes a kitchen, send both. One millwork package is cleaner than two vendors fighting the same elevator reservation.
Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens: the bathroom is the building
Brooklyn. Brownstones and walk-ups. Radiators, plaster, out-of-square corners. Scribe the ends. Do not fight the wall with fillers.
Manhattan. Condos and co-ops. COI, elevator pads, quiet hours. A vanity is a smaller install than a kitchen, but the building still wants paperwork before anyone rolls a cart into the lobby.
Queens. Astoria walk-ups, LIC towers, Forest Hills co-ops. Same millwork, different freight. LIC glass buildings like slab and integrated pulls. Prewar co-ops want painted shaker that will still look right in ten years.
We install by appointment. There is no customer-facing shop at 10 Montieth or anywhere else to drop by. Quotes start with photos, rough sizes, and the borough.
Door styles that survive a wet room
Styles we spec often: classic shaker for co-ops that want a traditional look; slim shaker when the bathroom is small and the frame should recede; slab for modern condos; drawers over doors when you actually use the vanity every morning.
Finishes people live with: painted whites, sage, navy, putty, and wood tones in walnut or white oak. Hardware in unlacquered brass, matte black, or brushed nickel. For grain and species notes, see wood species. For how jobs land after install, browse case studies. Design previews are not finished installs.
FAQ
Do I have to visit a showroom?
No. There is not one open to the public. Use the designer, send photos, then we measure on site.
Can you hit a weird width?
Yes. Built to the inch. Prewar bathrooms are the reason the tool exists.
How much does a custom vanity cost?
The designer shows a live number. Planning ranges on the site start around $225/lf for bases and $350/lf for a full vanity. Finish, drawers, and hardware move it.
Do you handle building COI?
Yes, once the job is booked and the building names are confirmed. Vanity installs are still building work in many co-ops.
Is the 3D picture a finished job?
No. Renders are design previews. Finished work is photographed after install.
